We rewind to 2004, revisiting a quietly influential moment in the Evasive Records catalogue. Following earlier collaborations with Asad Rizvi and Haris, UK producer Chris Pascoe steps out solo with Mong Juice / Trippy Breakfast — a release that captured his deep, late-night take on tech house at the time. Cut with a strong musical sensibility, Mong Juice delivers a dubby, spacious groove driven by reverb-soaked textures and an old-school bleep techno bassline. On the flip, Trippy Breakfast leans into deeper, more tribal territory, pairing hypnotic rhythms with warm minor-key chords. Originally released in small quantities and favoured by selectors who valued subtlety over spectacle, this EP now returns as part of the Evasive repress series — a reminder of a sound built for long nights, locked grooves and dancefloors that reward patience.
